Bunk Bed Frames

In a modern and stylish environment that we have nowadays, purchased furniture reflects our taste in design. Before, people would just buy any furniture to fill in vacant space in their houses. But now, individuals who live in an apartment or a condominium will need to save any space available.

Now, a customer can purchase an ideal bunk bed to fit in their limited floor area room. Having a bunk bed, bed frames are stacked on top of each other to maximize the space in a room.

The standard bunk bed frame is the most widespread type of bunk bed – 2 similarly sized mattresses are placed directly on top of the other and supported by the frame. A twin over full bunk bed frame is different, though. In a twin over full, the mattress on the bottom is full sized while the top one is a twin size.

But if you’re concerned about the space, check out the futon bunk bed frame. A futon bunk bed has a frame that is very similar to the conventional bunk bed, but the difference is the fact that the lower one can be converted into a Western-style futon couch. Imagine a couch under your bed and still have the comfort of watching your favorite show. It is useful too if you will invite your friends for a sleepover.

Anyone who uses a bunk bed should be aware of the safety tips that are of utmost importance when it comes to children. Even grown ups who use full sized beds need to make sure that the ladder is stable and solidly attached to the top bunk and that the mattress frame for the top bunk are safely connected to the frame. Unfortunately, children will have a greater possibility of injury, since they are more prone to unsafe acts or horseplay on their own bed. To protect the safety of children, especially when it comes to falling off the top bunk, guardrails should be attached on all corners of the mattress, running the full length of the frame and the mattress. As a cost-cutting contingency, some bunk beds only have a single guardrail, since said beds are designed to be placed with one of its sides against the wall. There are cases where these beds are improperly installed, or could be moved away from the wall by people who didn’t know any better, which will expose the risk of falling out of  bed’s side which is unguarded. Another issue worth noting is the stability of the ladder and its connection to the frame of the bed. Even if the rungs of said ladder are secured in place, the screws that attach it to the top bed frame may loosen eventually. It is a must to check from time to time the bunk bed frame.

When you purchase your bunk bed frame, take note of these safety tips. Also, it is better not to buy the bed frame that is already attached even if it says with discount when purchased. Hire a person who knows how to setup the bed to ensure that it is safe to use.  Check out kids furniture bunk beds.
